This 2.99.4 release includes some important bugfixes to pdftex (updated to 1.20b-rc3; libpng update fixes an image inclusion bug) and xdvi. I switched to dvipng-1.3 which includes the feedback from the latest teTeX pretests, so I hope that all old problems are fixed now. I am very grateful for the feedback received so far!
