SUBDIRECTORY: latex

AMS-LaTeX Version 1.1 Distribution 

This directory contains recent copies of latex.tex and lplain.tex.
These files are utilized during the installation of AMS-LaTeX.
It is not necessary to transfer these files to your local machine
if you already have recent versions installed there. Your copy
of latex.tex should be dated <24 May 1989> or later, and lplain.tex
should be <15 Mar 1990> or later.  See Appendix A of the AMS-LaTeX
User's Guide for more information.

These files are provided on the AMS archive as a convenience, but the
AMS archive should not be considered the primary source for them.

These files should be installed where your implementation of TeX looks
for input files.
