The packages shipped with 10.0 use a defective binutils package, it cannot link:

/opt/cross/lib64/gcc/avr/4.0.2/../../../../avr/bin/ld: lcd128.out: could not find output section .eeprom for input section .eeprom
/opt/cross/lib64/gcc/avr/4.0.2/../../../../avr/bin/ld: final link failed: Nonrepresentable section on output
make: *** [lcd128.out] Error 1

The packages found in this directory fix that.
